New York Grill: Guest Chef Promotion with Sergio Herman

New York Grill is excited to announce the next special guest chef promotion with celebrity Michelin-starred chef, Sergio Herman, from The Netherlands. Chef Herman will be travelling around Asia on a culinary quest to study the cuisine and ingredients of different regions this spring and will present his Japan-inspired menu using fresh, seasonal Japanese produce this April.

Chef Herman started his career as the chef of his world famous restaurant, Oud Sluis, in The Netherlands, for 25 years. His cooking style has been described to be light with fresh accents and delicate acidity. More recently, he has shifted his focus on to classic dishes inspired from his childhood but presented in a modern way.

He has been listed in the “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” for the past eight years and in 2005, he was awarded the highest possible score of three Michelin stars. In 2010, he was given the maximum score of 20 points from Gault et Millau. Chef Herman is also known for collaborating with many influential designers, DJs and artists, making his dining experience style to be innovative and fun. He now owns four restaurants: Pure C (Nl), AIRrepublic (Nl), Blueness (Nl) and The Jane (Be) and is also the co-owner of the quick-serve food concept Frites Atelier with 5 venues: The Hague (Nl), Utrecht (Nl), Arnhem (Nl), Antwerp (Be), Ghent (Be) with the sixth shop opening in March of 2019 in Brussels (Be).

On coming to Tokyo, Chef Herman states; “I am humbled by the invitation from Park Hyatt Tokyo to show my style of cooking to the people in Japan. This is much more than a dream come true and I am truly honored to contribute to the legacy of Park Hyatt.”
