New York Grill & Bar is pleased to present a special one week collaboration this autumn with chef-owners Jeremiah Stone and Fabian Von Hauske Valtierra of Contra and guest mixologist, William Elliot of Maison Premiere. Chef de Cuisine Steffan Heerdt is excited to welcome these talented culinary connoisseurs to Tokyo after meeting them on his recent trip to New York earlier this year.
During this very special New York guest chef and mixologist collaboration week, the Contra chefs will prepare a 6 course dinner menu at New York Grill using fresh, Japanese seasonal ingredients, hand selected by the chefs and William Elliot will be serving his signature Maison Premiere classics and experimental cocktails at New York Bar.
Contra is critically acclaimed for being one of the best restaurants in the Lower East Side with its dynamic six course tasting menu made with local and seasonal ingredients inspired by contemporary New York. They have been holding one Michelin star since 2016 and the restaurant has also received 2 stars from The New York Times and made the list for “The Best 10 New Restaurants of 2014”. Chef Stone focuses on the savory dishes while Chef von Hauske Valtierra is in charge of the restaurant’s pastry and bread. They were both named Food & Wine’s “Best New Chefs” in 2016.
Maison Premiere is renowned for being one of the most unique mixology bars in New York with its expertly executed classic cocktails and modern signature creations that incorporate rare garnishes and spirits. Located in Brooklyn, the bar has received many prestigious accolades such as the “2016 James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar Program”, “Bar of the Year 2016” by Time Out New York, and has been ranked in the “World’s 50 Best Bars” list consecutively for the past two years.
